Everyone in the west end wants the same Saturday slots at the same centre, and DriveTest does not hold any back. Nobody can move you up that queue — not us, not anyone. Book as far ahead as you can stand.

Test morning, from Nepean
From Centrepointe or City View it is a clean run east on Baseline and down to Walkley. Fifteen minutes on a normal morning, twenty-five if you leave at eight.
The practice hour covers Walkley Road, the Heron and Bank intersections, and the residential streets behind the centre. Walkley handles every licence class, so the examiner pool is larger and the routes vary more than at Canotek — we cover several rather than drilling one.
The car itself is the same everywhere: certified interlock, insured for a road test, unmarked, automatic, fresh mouthpiece. The full specification is on the road-test car page.
You might not need a road test at all
Before you book anything from Nepean, check how long your licence was invalid. It is the only thing that decides whether a road test is required at all, and we would rather tell you now than take a booking you do not need.
- 1–3 yrs
- Eye test only — no road test. A first conviction carries a minimum one-year suspension, so most first-time drivers land here.
- 3–10 yrs
- Knowledge test, eye test and two road tests, with no mandatory waiting between them. This is who we are for.
- 10+ yrs
- You reapply as a new driver and serve every graduated licensing waiting period. No fast-tracking.

Can I do a road test on a Saturday in Ottawa?
Yes, at Walkley Road only. Canotek runs Monday to Friday. Walkley’s Saturday appointments are the most heavily booked slots in the city, so treat them as something to plan around rather than to find at short notice.
Is Walkley or Canotek better from Nepean?
Walkley, on distance alone — around 15 minutes from Centrepointe against a considerably longer run east to Canotek. Walkley also handles every licence class.
