Ontario rewrote parts of the interlock rules. For offences on or after that date, installing within 30 days of reinstatement and complying throughout can reduce the condition to a minimum of nine months for a first offence and two years for a second. A new minimum six-month “P” condition — zero alcohol and zero drugs when driving — now follows the “I” condition. Almost nothing currently ranking on Google reflects either change.
