Terms of service
Plain terms covering bookings, cancellations, the vehicle and what we are and are not responsible for.
1. What we provide
Two services: rental of a vehicle fitted with an ignition interlock device for the purpose of an Ontario road test, with an accompanying instructor; and in-car driving instruction. We do not install ignition interlock devices, book road tests, or deliver any part of Ontario’s remedial programmes.
2. Quotes and payment
Quotes are given in writing and are valid for 14 days. No deposit is required to obtain a quote. A booking is confirmed only when you accept the quote in writing and we acknowledge it.
3. Your responsibilities
- Booking your own road test with DriveTest and giving us the correct date, centre and class.
- Holding a valid Ontario driver’s licence and disclosing every condition printed on it.
- Attending sober. We will end a session or booking immediately, without refund, if a driver appears impaired.
- Attending at the agreed time. We wait 20 minutes.
4. Cancellation
- By you, more than 48 hours before: rescheduled at no charge.
- By you, within 48 hours: we will always try to reschedule; a charge may apply where the vehicle and instructor cannot be reallocated.
- By DriveTest: rebooked at no charge to you.
- By us: full refund, or a rebooking at your choice.
5. The vehicle
The vehicle remains ours at all times. It is insured for instructional use and for a DriveTest road test. You are responsible for any fine, toll or penalty incurred while driving it, and for damage caused by wilful misconduct or by driving while impaired.
6. What we cannot promise
We cannot guarantee that you will pass a road test, that a particular appointment will be available, or that DriveTest will not cancel. We are not responsible for a test declared out of order for a reason outside the vehicle we supplied — for example an inability to provide an acceptable breath sample.
7. No affiliation
We are an independent driving school. We are not affiliated with the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario, DriveTest, Smart Start or ALCOLOCK, and we do not install ignition interlock devices. You book your road test directly with DriveTest at drivetest.ca or 1-888-570-6110.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario.
