How the day runs
Test morning, from Stittsville
Thirty-six minutes to either Ottawa centre, which from Stittsville is the same decision either way. The 417 from Carp Road is the usual route and it is reliable outside of a winter storm.
If you take a Carleton Place date instead, the morning is completely different: a quiet centre, rural approach roads and higher speed limits on the route. That is not harder, but it rewards different practice, and we run the hour accordingly rather than pretending the two are interchangeable.
The car itself is the same everywhere: certified interlock, insured for a road test, unmarked, automatic, fresh mouthpiece. The full specification is on the road-test car page.
You might not need a road test at all
Before you book anything from Stittsville, check how long your licence was invalid. It is the only thing that decides whether a road test is required at all, and we would rather tell you now than take a booking you do not need.
- 1–3 yrs
- Eye test only — no road test. A first conviction carries a minimum one-year suspension, so most first-time drivers land here.
- 3–10 yrs
- Knowledge test, eye test and two road tests, with no mandatory waiting between them. This is who we are for.

Do you charge extra to come out to Carleton Place?
